Object View States

A final aspect of object movie order and sequence is view states. Essentially, the view states of an object movie relate to specific events that may occur during playback. For example, you could have one view state visible when the mouse button is up and another image visible when the mouse button is pressed.

You may have as many view states as you wish on a QTVR object movie, although only 2 view states (mouse up and mouse down) are recognized in typical QTVR objects.

exclaim Other object view states are accessible only through the QTVR programming API (Application Programming Interface) and thus require a multimedia authoring environment or the C programming language to use.

All of the images for each view state are organized just as for basic object movies. All of the horizontal views for the first vertical angle are sequenced, followed by the horizontal views for the second angle and so on. After all images for the first view state are assembled, the images for the next view state are sequenced and appended to the first view state using the same order sequence. Thus, the sequence of an object movie of our woman's head that has 3 horizontal shots for each of three vertical angles, and two view states would look like this:
